It has been five years since Arendelle experienced the harsh winter Queen Sungmin created. Queen Sungmin has full control of her powers. She has trained by herself, since no one else in the kingdom or in the country possesses the same powers like her. She still brings joy to Arendelle by giving them ice and snow in varying degrees, for each season excluding winter.

But lately, she has been busy with political and economical affairs. After all, she is the Queen and the only ruler of Arendelle. She engages in talks with different leaders, not only to make Arendelle a trading country, but also a country thriving in various aspects.

She feels guilty for not appeasing the citizens’ wants for snow and ice during the summer. Princess Heechul says that she should not feel guilty, she’s not supposed to please people all the time, and she should focus on her work. The princess decides to talk to the citizens and convinces them that the Queen is doing her best for this country, and their needs will be met as soon as talks are over. The princess thinks that the citizens have been too spoiled, and they should learn to be patient for better things.

The Queen is forever grateful to her sister.

One morning, the Queen decides to return to her ice castle for a day—to think things through. She believes that she makes better decisions alone, without anyone’s counsel. The princess has been informed of the Queen’s one day leave, and will take care of any political and economical affairs. Sometimes she hates her sister for leaving without saying goodbye.

The Queen is sometimes in awe of her ice castle whenever she wants to stay there for a few hours. I can’t believe I made this. She thinks. She opens the large doors, enters the castle, takes the stairs, and walks inside her chambers. She’s restored the broken chandelier that smashed because of her fight against Prince Kibum. She paces inside her chambers, thinking about laws, policies, and agreements. Sometimes she wonders what it’s like to become a commoner, not worrying about any of those.

She decides to head back before the sun set. As she arrives, she is relieved that Princess Heechul didn’t cause chaos. The last time she left, the Princess may or may not have set the castle on fire, thanks to the other citizens and her boyfriend, Siwon. Luckily, the Queen had ice powers.

She eats dinner with her sister and talk about their day. Princess Heechul recalls that she had Princess lessons and played with the citizens in the square. She also says that Siwon was busy delivering ice to people and they did not see each other today. Queen Sungmin says she didn’t do anything but think and pace in her bedroom.

“Live a little, sis. Sometimes all you think about is politics. It bores me.” Princess Heechul says.

Queen Sungmin offers a smile in return. She is right though, but this could be the taking over the kingdom for a day talking.

After their dinner and brief talk, the princess proceeds to her room, and the queen does as well. Shindong, the snowman, sensing that the Queen has been down lately, knocks on the door of the Queen’s chambers. She opens the door and looks ahead, but no one was there. So she looks down.

“Hi Shindong,” she greets with a smile. She squats so they could be of eye level.

“Queen Sungmin, is something the matter?” He asks.

Queen Sungmin shakes her head.

“Are you sure? I would love to give you a warm hug.” Shindong says. The queen nods. Shindong then takes a few steps forward and hugs the Queen.

“Thank you, Shindong,” she says.

“Sweet dreams, Queen Sungmin! Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite!” Shindong giggles and hops to Princess Heechul’s room. Queen Sungmin shuts her bedroom door and lies down on her bed.

The next morning, as the sun begins to rise, Queen Sungmin is still in deep slumber; she is yet to wake in an hour. But, she wakes up earlier than usual, after hearing a whisper.

“Your majesty.” She stirs in her sleep, hearing a whisper, completely ignoring it.

“Your majesty.” Another whisper. She ignores it again.

She hears more until she shoots up awake. She keeps her composure but instinctively covers her body with her blanket, before asking, “who is there?”

She did not receive an answer.

After a while, she hears her name again, from the same voice. She notices that it is from a man and it is deep. It’s louder this time around. She is panicking.

“Your majesty.”

She leaves her bed and is ready to attack whomever it was bothering her.

“I promise not to hurt you, but please just show your face.” She says.

“I can’t show my face, your highness, until you believe in me.” He answers.

“You’re not real, why would I believe in you? And how do you know my name?”

“I assure you that I am not a ghost, your highness. And your name and face is plastered everywhere in your country.”

“Then show yourself.”

“I can’t.”

Queen Sungmin sighs in exasperation.

“Then how should I believe in you?” Queen Sungmin asks, sounding irritated.

“Look outside your window,” the voice says.

She does not comply.

“Don’t be difficult, your majesty,” the voice teases.

“Look who’s talking,” she retorts. The voice just chuckles.

But then, she hears laughter and commotion outside her room. The gates are open before she even wakes; she gasps and sees that the citizens are skating on the square. She rushes to the door and sees Princess Heechul standing on the steps of the castle, shocked.

“When did you do this, sis?”

“I didn’t,” Queen Sungmin admits.

“Well, whoever did, may either be challenging you or wants to gives the citizens what they wish.” Princess Heechul says. She is shocked that her sister wasn’t the cause of their citizens’ happiness, but is happy to see the citizens having fun.

She runs back to her room with the princess calling her to stay, but she doesn’t hear. As she opens the door to her room, she sees a man, flying in her room. His hair is white and he is wearing a blue long sleeved shirt and brown pants. He is carrying a wooden staff with him.

Queen Sungmin shrieks when she sees him.

“Hi,” the man greets. She recognizes the voice.

Guards and servants run to her room and ask her why she screamed.

“Everything is fine. I accidentally froze my room again. My bad.” She lies.

The flying man chuckles when she lied.

Before she could converse with the flying man, she checks if the guards and servants are still there and they are. She dismisses them and she explains could reverse her magic anyway. They follow her majesty’s orders and leaves.

She locks her room for good measure and turns to the flying man.

“Who are you?” She asks.

“I’m Kyu Frost,” he supplies.

“What are you doing here?”

“Funny, how you asked me who I was first before knowing what my motives are.”

“Well, I want to address you properly.”

Kyu Frost just nods.

“Well, talk. Why are you here?” She demands, crossing her arms.

“I’ve heard of a kingdom and a beautiful queen that can make snow and ice. I was curious and ended up finding you. And they weren’t wrong about you.”

When Queen Sungmin heard she was beautiful, she felt a blush creep her cheeks, hoping Kyu Frost didn’t see it.

“By going to my room and freezing the town square?”

“Pretty much.” He shrugs.

“I’m Queen Sungmin,” she says.

“I know who you are,” Kyu Frost says smugly.

The Queen rolls her eyes.

“So what brings you here to Arendelle?” She asks as she walks to sit on her bed.

“I wanted to confirm if you can make snow and ice and also cause a little mischief here and there.”

“You better not hurt any of my citizens,” she threatens.

“I will not, I assure you. Your citizens need a little more fun, that’s all.” He says.

Guilt seeps in when the queen hears what Kyu Frost said. It is true.

“I think they need to go back to their lives, you know? I can’t pamper the citizens all the time.”

“Maybe you need a little break, yourself, Queen Sungmin. I’ve also heard that the citizens liked having snow, and miss it especially now in summer.”

He is right again. It has been more than an annual snow in summer event, it has been made tradition.

“Come, I have to show you something.” Kyu Frost says something as he reaches his hand to the Queen.

“No.”

“It’s going to be fun, your highness.” Kyu Frost grins.

“Why would I trust you? I just met you.”

“You need not trust me; you just have to believe me.” Kyu Frost winks.

Queen Sungmin stands firmly in her spot, unwilling to move.

“Well, then I guess I just have to…”

Then Kyu Frost snatches the Queen’s hand and both float in the air.

“What are you doing?! Put me down you scoundrel!” The queen demands.

“Sorry, I don’t take orders from anybody,” Kyu Frost replies with a cheeky grin.

Queen Sungmin shrieks as both of them go higher. She hugs, well wraps herself in Kyu Frost’s body, which makes Kyu Frost snicker. She buries her face in the crook of Kyu Frost’s neck, not wanting to look down.

“Just hold on,” Kyu Frost jokes.

“Like I have any choice in the matter,” the queen quips.

With the help of Kyu Frost’s wooden staff, they dash through the town square, the sea, and the forest. Queen Sungmin decides that she’s afraid of heights and is unable to see the aerial view of Arendelle.

In less than 30 minutes, they land on somewhere hard and cold.

Kyu Frost drops her, safely, in a bedroom, while Kyu Frost stays in the air.

When she finally gets a view of where they landed, she smiles. She knows that place. She likes that place. She built that place. It is her icy castle.

“Knew you would smile when you see this,” Kyu Frost says.

She stands up and dusts her pyjamas.

“It’s because I built this place.” She declares.

“It’s impressive, your highness.”

She smiles when she finally hears a compliment from Kyu Frost. He then hovers inside the palace, noticing each nook and cranny.

“Can I live here?” He asks.

“No.”

Kyu Frost pouts. The queen admits, on her mind, that he finds him cute like that.

“So, Kyu Frost, what brings you here in Arendelle?”

“Haven’t we gone over that?”

“Not exactly.”

The queen heads to the balcony and sits down. She gets a nice view of the sun from her castle, if it wasn’t at all blinding, she could stare it all day. But she turns around and avoids the sun and watches Kyu Frost float in her bedroom, touching all the furniture and items in her bedroom.

“Well, your highness, all I want in the world is fun. I travel from city to city to meet children and give them happiness. We’re not going to be young forever, might as well make them relish it, while they’re still young.” He explains.

“But life isn’t all about fun, Kyu Frost.”

“It’s how you make it fun,” Kyu Frost winks.

Queen Sungmin sighs.

“I hate dreary and bleak, your highness.”

“I got that,” Queen Sungmin quips.

“Maybe if you loosened up a bit, you could make your citizens happy again.”

“Ruling over a country is not about making it fun or complying with their demands, Kyu Frost. You don’t understand; I have responsibilities.”

“Responsibilities, schmonsibilities… Life is not supposed to be filled with regrets,” He says wistfully, “your majesty.” He adds.

Queen Sungmin thinks that this conversation is headed downhill and wants to change the subject.

“Were you human before, Kyu Frost?”

“I’m not sure, your majesty. That is why I am on an adventure, too. I want to know who I am. I have yet to retrieve any memory, if there is any.”

“But do you want to be human again?”

“Sometimes, but I like having powers— gives me an upper hand over mortals, except you.”

Queen Sungmin giggles.

“This is making me sad, your highness, why don’t we play a game?” Kyu Frost challenges.

Queen Sungmin smiles and accepts it.

The two head down to the castle grounds and have a playful icy battle. With the help of Kyu Frost’s staff, he is able to conjure icicles on the ground. Meanwhile, Queen Sungmin can make ice with her hands and shoots snowballs at Kyu Frost. The two are laughing and enjoying. Queen Sungmin has never felt this way; since no one else in Arendelle, or possibly in the world, that have powers like her. She is glad that someone could challenge her to a playful duel like this.

She gets carried away and shoots an icicle at Kyu Frost’s chest. Kyu Frost lands on the ground, clutching his chest. The Queen gasps and runs to him. Tears well in her eyes, and she thinks what has she done.

“I’m sorry, Kyu Frost,” she says.

“Looks like someone needs more practice,” he smiles, and floats in the air again. He is unaffected by anything harmful, since he’s not human.

Queen Sungmin makes another snowball and throws one at Kyu Frost’s direction. He evades the queen’s attacks. Queen Sungmin goes back to attack mode, but then Kyu Frost aims for her head and she drops to the ground, still conscious. He rushes to her and floats above her.

“Cheater,” she says, and he laughs.

They have not seen each other this close. Queen Sungmin notices that Kyu Frost has big brown eyes and the way it crinkles when he smiles. She raises a hand to touch Kyu Frost’s face but then someone calls her name.

“Sis!” It is Princess Heechul.

She stands up and dusts her pyjamas from the snow.

“What are you doing here? We were looking everywhere for you.” We: being the whole castle staff. But only the princess searched for her.

“I was practicing,” the queen lies.

“You’re not a good liar,” the princess states. She crosses her arms and raises her eyebrows.

“It’s going to be hard to explain,” the queen says.

“Try me.”

“How do I begin…” The queen sighs.

“You haven’t much time, sis, you’re loaded with meetings today. I am sure no one would be pleased if you’re late.”

“Well, uh, there’s this guy…” The queen begins.

“Are you seeing someone and not telling me? How dare you! We’re sisters! We tell each other everything!” The princess exclaims.

Kyu Frost snorts. Queen Sungmin looks behind and glares at him. Princess Heechul notices.

“Sis, what are you looking at? There’s no one behind you.”

“Actually, there is.”

“Huh?” Princess Heechul raised an eyebrow.

“He’s invisible to the others. Only those that believe in him can see him.” The queen explains.

“Have you gone mad, sis?!” Princess Heechul is genuinely worried. Maybe the queen needs to take a break from all those political talks.

“No! Trust me, you have to believe in him.”

“Kyu Frost, help me out here,” the queen pleads as she looks behind. Kyu Frost is all for fun but he wants more people to believe in him. So he makes a snowball and hits Princess Heechul on the face.

“Kyu!!!” The queen scolds him. He snickers, and Princess Heechul is not at all pleased. She wipes the snow off of her face and glares at her sister.

“It’s not me, Heechul, I swear!” She admits.

“Where is he?” She asks, irritated.

As if on cue, he appears, right in front of Princess Heechul.

“Heechul, stay calm… Don’t punch him like you did with Prince Kibum.”

But she does not heed her sister’s plea and punches Kyu Frost on the face anyway. He does not budge when he was hit. He just smiles and shrugs.

Queen Sungmin rubs her temples, trying to calm herself.

“Sis! Hit him with a snowball or icicle or something!” Princess Heechul demands.

“No, Heechul. Kyu, please apologize to my sister. This discussion is over, and I will have to return to the castle to settle more political affairs. Understood?”

The two nods. Kyu reaches for a handshake, and reluctantly Heechul shakes it.

“Good. Heechul, let’s go.”

The sisters head back on Princess Heechul’s horse. Kyu Frost follows them. When they arrive, they are greeted by the castle staff. Queen Sungmin assures the staff that she is fine. She will have to get ready for the meetings today.

*

The next time Queen Sungmin sees Kyu Frost is floating outside the window. It had been two days since their first meeting. This time, Queen Sungmin is discussing with other leaders.

“Queen Sungmin, we are delighted to make trade negotiations with you…” A leader trails off when the mischief maker appears.

Queen Sungmin shakes her head and mouths, “not today.”

“Queen Sungmin, is something the matter?” asked the leader that was discussing about trade.

“No, not at all. Please continue.” She insists.

The leader does, while Queen Sungmin is trying to maintain her focus on the meeting.

She side-eyes Kyu Frost who was drawing a heart on the window. She rolls her eyes and mouths, “go away!” He shakes his head. She decides to ignore Kyu Frost and actually listen and contribute to the meeting.

Thirty minutes later, their meeting is on recess. She retreats to her room, sitting on her bed, hoping not to see Kyu Frost. Apparently, she gets the opposite and Kyu Frost appears in her room.

“Greetings, your highness,” he says smugly.

“I don’t want to talk to you, go away.”

“My favorite queen is dismissing me. This is depressing.” Kyu Frost pouts.

“You almost ruined my meeting this morning. And I would like no intrusions this afternoon.” She says.

“You know I don’t like taking orders.”

She sighs exasperatedly.

“Out!” She orders as she points to the door.

Kyu Frost shakes his head. She would hit him, but her powers won’t work on him.

“I don’t want to deal with you right now. So please, leave.”

There is harshness in her tone, and she meant it to be that way. But she feels guilty as Kyu Frost disappeared into thin air; he has to leave, after all, she did not want to be distracted. Queen Sungmin takes a mental note to apologize when he reappears.

Queen Sungmin proceeds with the meetings without any interruptions, much to her delight. However, Kyu Frost does not reappear that night. He does appear the next morning, looking sullen. To make up for Queen Sungmin said to him, she proposes another playful icy duel. He accepts. She apologizes before they played. He accepts that as well.

*

The gates are always closed at 8:00 PM, and no citizen is allowed to enter the castle premises after 8. But something awaits Queen Sungmin in the castle grounds. Usually she retreats to her bedroom, and get some shut eye by 9. She is ready to sleep, she is just combing her ridiculously long blonde hair, then she hears a knock from the window.

Kyu Frost. She smiles when she sees him. He enters her room, in his usual floating form.

“Someone’s ready to go to sleep,” he says.

“There’s a ball tomorrow, and I have to wake up early.” She answers.

“I’m sure you can spare a few minutes, I have a special surprise for you,” he winks.

He flies by her and covers her eyes. Kyu Frost tells her to follow his voice and trust him, and she does. They exit her room, avoiding any guard or staff. They pass by the corridor smoothly, but come to a halt when Kyu Frost sees the stairs. He then scoops her up and carries her, and they fly down to the ground floor of the castle.

“Close your eyes,” he says as he gently lands the queen on the floor. She nods, covering her eyes with her own hands.

Kyu Frost opens the main door gingerly, hoping not to make any noise. He doesn’t make any and is glad. Once he’s opened the door, he flies and stands behind the queen, guiding her outside by the waist.

“Take a few more steps,” he guides her.

“Stay there but don’t open your eyes yet.” He says.

He flies and sits on the fountain.

“Open them!” She does as she’s told and smiles at the sight.

The castle ground is covered in ice, like the one she made when they opened the gates for the citizens again.

“What do you think?” He asks, extending his arms.

“It’s nice, but I did this already. Sorry.” She tilts her head and smiles.

“Aww man, better luck next time I suppose.”

The queen then makes skate shoes out of ice. She then walks to the icy ground and skates. Kyu Frost stays in the air, watching the queen’s graceful movements. He then flies to her side and holds her hand. She smiles. They dance together on the ice. The queen is humming a tune Kyu Frost isn’t familiar with, so she leads. They dance a waltz.

They come to a stop by the fountain. Kyu Frost is standing in front of the queen, looking at her intently at her big brown eyes. The queen does the same for Kyu. She, then, places a hand on Kyu Frost’s left cheek. It was cold as ice, but the cold never bothered her anyway. She, then, touches Kyu Frost’s lips with her thumb. And before she knew it, Kyu Frost gives her a peck on the lips.

She looks at him, quite shocked and amused. She, then, wraps her arms around his neck, and automatically Kyu Frost places his hands on the queen’s waist. She tiptoes and kisses him. She’s always wondered what it’s like to kiss someone. It felt thrilling, exciting, and nerve-racking at the same time.

She ends the kiss and pulls away. Kyu Frost stares at her, and a little while his lips begin to form a smile.

“I’m sorry,” she says, as she looks down and tucks a few strands of hair on her ear.

“Don’t be,” he answers, as he raises her head gently with his fingers.

Kyu Frost gives her a kiss on the forehead, and she smiles and bites her lower lip once he’s done. He turns around, and she wonders why he did.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” She asks, skating to his side.

She holds her hand, assuring him that whatever’s on his mind, she’s ready to listen.

“I have to leave tomorrow,” he informs her.

Her hold on Kyu Frost’s hand tightens. He’s been here for only 2 weeks. He’s made the citizens happy over the past two weeks, giving them joy and fun; why must he leave so soon?

“Why?” She asks.

“I feel like I have fulfilled my mission on bringing back the fun to Arendelle.” He replies.

“You can’t stay any longer?” She prods.

“I can’t. I stay in one place for only a period of time. I have yet to know how I came to be like this. I’m in search of answers, I go from place to place, to know if I can uncover my past there.” He explains.

Queen Sungmin keeps quiet. She, then, moves in front of him and cups his face. She gives him a peck on the lips and a hug.

“Can’t you stay a little longer for the ball?”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” he replies.

“I should take you back to your room, your highness.”

“No need, I could go walk back up there anyway.”

“No, I insist.” Then, he carries her bridal style back to her room, flying. She asks to land on her bed, and he does and lets go of the queen.

“Good night, your highness,” He smiles as he just floats above her.

“Good night, Kyu Frost,” she returns a smile and falls asleep quickly. He kisses her forehead as he departs her room.

*

It is the morning of the ball, Queen Sungmin is awaken by a castle staff because she asked to. She has to go over table arrangements and food selections for the day, and has one meeting in the afternoon.

She hoped to see Kyu Frost once she wakes up, but he wasn’t there. So, she goes over everything as planned. She approves of everything, and the staffs are busy preparing to make the ball perfect. She asked a staff where Princess Heechul was, and they said she is with Siwon. She retreats to her bedroom, and there she will select her gown for the ball. Some of her maids have selected the finest gowns. Kyu Frost emerges out of nowhere but is asked to be quiet. He nods.

As she was selecting between a blue and a green gown, she heard a whisper from Kyu Frost saying, he will be back for the ball. She then nods discretely, and he leaves. She chose the blue gown. In the afternoon, she meets some of the councilmen to discuss their status with other countries. It bored her. She wished Kyu Frost appeared from the window, but he promised to go back for the ball.

It’s time for her to prepare. She heads to her bedroom, but she hears a familiar laugh. It was her sister, back after delivering ice with Siwon, she guesses. She drags Siwon along with her.

“Sis!” Princess Heechul greets.

She turns around and smiles.

“Your highness,” Siwon bows. She returns a slight nod.

“Have you done delivering the ice?” The queen asks.

“Yes, your highness. Princess Heechul accompanied me.” He answers.

“Why don’t you both prepare for the ball?” The queen says.

“We will, sis!” Princess Heechul grins. “C’mon Siwon, let’s go!” She says as she drags Siwon to the room.

“Don’t be late!” The queen informs Princess Heechul.

Queen Sungmin then enters her room. The maids are waiting for her to dress her up and style her hair. In an hour or so, she’s prepared. The blue gown fits nicely on her. Her blonde hair is braided, as it has always been, and rested on her left shoulder. She, then, exits her room and heads to the ballroom. Shindong sees her and compliments her. She says her thanks and Shindong happily hops inside the ballroom.

Once a guard announced her entry to the ballroom, everyone did a bow or a curtsy. She gestures for everyone to resume whatever they were doing. Princess Heechul is dancing with Siwon, which makes Queen Sungmin laugh. Some of the councilmen and their wives are there. Other nobles are there too, conversing, with nobles and princes of other countries. Meanwhile, she is looking for Kyu Frost, who is nowhere in sight. She sighs and walks over to dignitaries or nobles.

They eat dinner after an hour, and some either continue dining or opt to dance. Queen Sungmin decides to get some fresh air and asks Princess Heechul to entertain the guests.

“You owe me one, sis,” The queen just laughs at Princess Heechul.

She heads to a balcony, where some of the guests stayed. They were about to enter, but they said they will leave. She insists letting them stay, but they still enter the ballroom. She looks up at the moon and the stars. She gets a view of the village; she is in awe how majestic it is after seeing the lights. She hears merriment from a bar nearby. Arendelle is a beautiful country to rule, she thinks.

She felt a chill in the air, and she knows who caused it. In front of her, floating as usual, is Kyu Frost.

“Hi,” she smiles.

“You look stunning, your highness,” he says.

“Thank you,” she replies.

He then lands on the railing of the balcony, and the queen tells him to be careful. He then jumps down to where Queen Sungmin is standing. He nears her, and she doesn’t flinch, wince, or take a step back. She welcomes his company. He rests his wooden staff on the side, and places his hands on Queen Sungmin’s waist. Queen Sungmin’s arms rest on the side Kyu Frost’s neck, while her head rests on his chest.

“You sure you can’t stay?” She asks.

“I apologize, your majesty.” He says.

He then kisses the crown of Queen Sungmin’s head. Queen Sungmin looks up at Kyu Frost’s face and leans in for a kiss. She then pulls away, and Kyu Frost retracts his hands and floats again.

“Will you forget me?” She asks.

“Forget you? How could I forget you? It’s disappointing, really—to know that there is someone else like me who has ice powers.” She, then, chuckles and playfully hits him in the knee (read: short).

“But I’m glad that it’s you that has ice powers like me,” he adds.

“Here,” then Queen Sungmin stretches out her hand and a small ice orb forms. She then places it on top of Kyu Frost’s staff, and he grabs hold of his staff.

“Just something to remember me by,” Queen Sungmin winks.

“I have to go,” he says sadly. Tears well in Queen Sungmin’s eyes, she fights the urge to cry, but a tear streams down her face.

Kyu Frost wipes the tear from her face and kisses her cheek.

“I’ll miss you, Kyu Frost,” she says, looking up at him.

“You too, Queen Sungmin,” he returns the farewell and kisses her forehead.

Before he flies to his target country, he looks back at her, smiling. He gives her a wink, and flies off. She watches over Kyu Frost until he’s gone from view. She composes herself, but the tears continue to trickle on her face. She is wiping it with her handkerchief and Princess Heechul opens the door the balcony, who was looking for her sister.

“Hi sis, what’s— oh. Are you crying?” Princess Heechul asks, seeing her sister, wiping tears from her face.

“N-n-no, Heechul. I’m fine.” She says, not looking at her sister.

“You have never been a good liar, sis.” Princess Heechul states.

“I know,” she says and hugs her sister.

“What’s wrong? Was it Kyu Frost?”

The queen doesn’t respond.

“Where is he? I’ll kick his sorry ass for hurting you.”

“He’s gone.”

“Gone? What do you mean gone? You allowed him to go and leave you like this?”

“He said his goodbye, Heechul. He had to go.”

Princess Heechul pulls away from the hug and wipes off the tears from her sister’s face.

“Well, when he comes back I will be sure to kick his ass.” Queen Sungmin then giggles at her sister’s promise.

“Stop crying, you look horrible. C’mon, let’s introduce you to some princes.” Princess Heechul says as she wipes more tears until Queen Sungmin is deemed presentable. Princess Heechul drags her inside, but for one last time she looks at the sky hoping to catch a glimpse of Kyu Frost.
